Hussain Sajwani Says Catering Business Will Always Be Important To Him

June 19, 2018

Hussain Sajwani has always believed there is more to be done than what has already been done when it comes to building a company, especially in real estate investing. But where it all started was when he started a catering business which he decided to make into a worldwide sales operation. Sajwani said he always made it important to supply high quality tasting food to all customers, and he had a diverse product range and customer base he catered to. Back in the early 1990s he was presented with an honor plaque for providing some of the best tasting foods to troops stationed in Kuwait during the Gulf War. Sajwani never closed the business because it serves as a reminder of where he came from, and because food service is extremely important in Sajwani’s line of work.

According to arabnews.com, Hussain Sajwani was born to a trade merchant in a Deira neighborhood in the UAE, and after he became older he graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington. He was with an oil company just before he started the catering company. After running the catering company for about 14 years, Sajwani started buying several mid-level hotel properties as he moved into real estate. As his portfolio grew, he decided to go completely into real estate and named his new company DAMAC Properties, and only a few years later the first big housing project at Marina Terrace was completed.

Hussain Sajwani was soon investing in top-of-the-line hotel buildings as his company’s revenue increased, and one of his first major properties to hit the market with exquisite designs inside was DAMAC Tower in Beirut which had Versace interiors. Other properties would also follow in the extravagant design pattern such as the freehold units at DAMAC Hills and the new AYKON City project which is becoming its own city within Dubai. Sajwani has been so successful because he’s kept his company operating with cash reserves to avoid going in deep debt, and he’s made successful public offerings in various exchanges. Sajwani also has been honored for his philanthropy by the UAE royal family, and that work includes helping refugees during the huda desert storm.
